Kerala businessman B Ravi Pillai has become the first Indian to acquire a luxury Airbus H 145 helicopter valued at around Rs 100 crore. The luxury helicopter was handed over to the head of the PR group of companies in Kovalam. It should be noted that there are only around 1,500 H145s in the world with over 6 million flight hours. Pillai was on board India’s first such helicopter, which flew from Kovalam to Raviz Ashtamudi.
The luxurious Airbus helicopter can carry up to seven passengers and two pilots. It can land and take off at heights of up to 20,000 feet above sea level. The H145 also features an innovative wireless communication system. The 68-year-old millionaire currently has a net worth of $2.5 billion. According to a senior RP Group executive, the new Airbus helicopter would improve its tourism business as it owns a chain of luxury hotels across the state. Additionally, the helicopter would be used to transport visitors from Pillai to other tourist spots in the state.

The H145 is the newest addition to Airbus’ four-ton class twin-engine rotorcraft lineup. Ravi Pillai, 68, is worth $2.5 billion and employs around 70,000 people through his many businesses.
