Meghalaya entrepreneur receives international recognition title
In recognition of over two decades of serial entrepreneurship and leadership for youth empowerment, Avenues, Meghalaya-based Founder and CEO Mark Laitflang Stone was congratulated by the inaugural edition of Asian Youth Empowerment AsiaOne Leader Award 2020-21.
The award was presented at the 15th Asia-Africa Business and Social Forum: Awards & Business Summit, held on October 26 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai.
In an effort to promote mutual well-being and facilitate new avenues of economic cooperation, networking and investment opportunities in Asia, the Middle East and Africa on a global platform, the mega summit of a day was joined by dignitaries who included ambassadors from eight countries, international companies and social leaders.
More than 200 brand and leader award winners in various fields such as diplomacy, women’s empowerment, youth empowerment and entrepreneurship were congratulated on this occasion.
Although the summit has seen 14 editions over the years, this is the first time the platform has been used to recognize youth empowerment efforts in the region.
AsiaOne Magazine recognized the efforts of Mark Laitflang’s stone– led Avenues for its pioneering role in life coaching and personal development interventions that build communication, clarity and confidence among young people in North East India. It is also the first time that a local initiative from northeast India has been recognized in this context on an international stage.
Speaking at the summit, Mark Laitflang Stone said: “There are a number of youth communities around the world, especially in emerging economies, that do not have equal access to equal opportunities. Our life coaching and soft skills interventions lead the region to economic prosperity simply because we know that if our young people lack the capacity to celebrate the effort without being criticized for failure, there is no will really have no progress.
He then thanked the Meghalaya government, the Indian government, Team Avenues, the Shillong community and his family for their support over the years.
It is in recognition of Mark Laitflang’s 20-year journey as an award-winning serial entrepreneur, life coach and impact speaker that AsiaOne magazine awarded him the award.
From the age of 17, he led companies and high-impact benchmarking teams in the areas of hospitality, skills development, events, IT, telecoms and consulting. At the age of 20, he founded Avenues – the pioneering life coaching and personal excellence training social enterprise in North East India – where he leads a committed team of young life coaches. whose meaningful interventions in soft skills, leadership, capacity building, life coaching and personal development have touched the lives of over 100,000 young people in North East India.
Keynote speaker and internationally sought-after keynote speaker, Mark’s coaching initiatives have led him to address audiences in India, Switzerland, Thailand and Brunei.
The culmination of these efforts can be seen in a flagship program – Aspire Meghalaya – which aims to build confidence, well-being and aspirations through talent identification efforts at Meghalaya, according to a statement from AsiaOne magazine.
