Nicholas Urban makes “Sticky Stickers”

Editor’s Note: Each month, the Sun-News highlights a young entrepreneur participating in the Cruces Kids Can – Jr. Vendor Program, a project designed to inspire and equip younger business people. Student participation involves showing and selling their products from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at the Las Cruces Farmers and Handicrafts Market in the city center. Although the COVID-19 pandemic is currently preventing students from selling in the market, their products are still available through their online outlets.

Where did the idea come from?

I got the idea when I saw someone drink from an empty water bottle and thought I could make that water bottle unique.

Describe your products:

Water bottles with handmade stickers.

How long does it take to manufacture your products?

It depends on the tile. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes and other times it can take 5 minutes or less depending on what we are doing.

Describe your process:

First I cut the decals then I weed them then I put them on contact paper then I put them either if I have an order for a water bottle or I cut them to measure and put them in a bag.

What are the prices of your products?

$ 3-5 for the basics and the price goes up from there. The most expensive item I sold was a bottle of water for $ 25.
